Mini Holidays

At the risk of getting stuck in the ‘vacation’ vs ‘holiday’ lexical conundrum, I feel like there are three types of holiday:

  1. Staycation: You’re on leave from work. Maybe the kids are home for school holidays. But you have a few days (or weeks) of drastically lowered responsibilities.
  2. Vacation: You’re away from home for an extended period of time. This usually means a fairly significant time and financial investment. No, this isn’t a work-trip, or a visit to family in another town. This is time away for you that refuels your tank.
  3. Mini-Holiday: a one or two night time.
